"Notes taken on a voyage from London to Melbourne with the clipper ship Hesperus ... ", 1 August -7 November 1888. Describes rations, entertainment, mute hostility between first and second class passengers, and a drowning. Includes a sketch plan of the ship's deck, programmes of shipboard entertainment and notes on the family's arrival at Sandridge, welcome and accomodation by relatives and settlement near Melbourne. Also, testimonials, West Melbourne Presbyterian Church OrdinationService, 30 March 1890 and "Copy of a letter sent 'Home', giving a description of a trip to the Gippsland Lakes at Christmas Time 1890". Also, "Lines recited by Mr. John Sofe at a Farewell meeting to Mr. and Mrs. Craig on the occasion of their leaving for Melbourne ... [from the] "Homes for Working Boys, Blackfriars Rd. [London]."
